When was ReflecToes started?
ReflecToes started in 2017 after founder Ben O'Brien began developing high-visibility performance gear around the idea of putting reflection on moving parts of the body.
What does ReflecToes make?
We make high-performance visibility gear for running, cycling, walking, and outdoor use, including reflective socks, fluorescent socks, gloves, vests, jackets, bands, lights, jerseys, and reflective decals.
Why not just use reflective yarn?
ReflecToes does not use reflective yarn in its reflective socks. We use separately applied high-intensity retroreflective heat-transfer material around the ankle. That gives us a broad reflective surface where we want it, while the sock itself can still use normal moisture-wicking athletic yarn.
What is retroreflection?
Retroreflective material returns light toward its source. When a car's headlights illuminate it, much of that light is sent back toward the driver. ReflecToes uses retroreflective material for nighttime and low-light visibility.
What is fluorescent color?
Fluorescent color uses UV-rich daylight to create extra visible brightness. It is most useful during the day, dawn, and dusk. It is a different visibility mechanism from retroreflection, which becomes especially useful under headlights at night.
What is bio-motion?
Bio-motion, or biological motion, is the recognizable movement pattern created by the human body. Research has shown that reflective or fluorescent cues on moving limbs can help drivers recognize a person from farther away than torso-only configurations in tested conditions. How bright are ReflecToes reflective materials?
It depends on the product. Our reflective socks and RT-D1/RT-D2 sticker material use 330+ cd/lx/m² high-intensity retroreflective material. RT-D2B and RT-D4 use 720+ cd/lx/m² material. Product pages list the specification that applies to that item.
Are ReflecToes products certified safety equipment?
ReflecToes products are designed for recreational and everyday visibility. We use high-performance reflective materials, but our consumer products should not be treated as certified occupational road-worker PPE unless a product page specifically says otherwise.
How do I choose a size?
Use the size chart on the product page. If you are between sizes or unsure, contact us and we will help.
How should I wash ReflecToes products?
Care varies by product. Reflective and fluorescent socks are machine washable in cold water. Most outerwear, including gloves, jackets, and vests, should be hand washed in cold water and hang dried. Summer cycling gloves should be hand washed with the hook-and-loop straps closed to help prevent snagging. Always follow the care instructions on the product page.
How durable are the reflective socks?
They are designed to retain reflective performance through 50-plus normal wash cycles when cared for as directed.
What payment methods do you accept?

What is the warranty?
We offer a 30-day warranty on ReflecToes products. If you experience a genuine product defect within one year of purchase, contact us. We generally provide a replacement as a customer-service accommodation.

Do you offer free shipping?
